This auction is for Volumes 1, 2, 3, and 4 of a five volume hardcover set of "The History of England From The Ascension of James II", by Thomas Babington Macaulay including the Life and Most Important Letters of Lord Macaulay by His Nephew, Geoge Otto Trevelyan, and published by Wm. L. Allison in 1885.

Vol. 1-522 pages: Tears at top and bottom of spine, cover spots and stains, spotting on side edges, tears on page opposite rear inside cover, stains on edges of illustrations, lightly tanned pages, waterstain on lower edge of last few pages, wear on cover edges, some looseness in front hinge.

Vol. 2-523 pages: Cover spotting, a few pages with erasures and notations, lightly tanned pages, tear at top edge of spine, looseness oon both hinges, some cracking to rear hinge,wear on cover edges, illustrated.

Vol. 3-475 pages: Some looseness to both hinges, small waterstain on top side edge with a few stains on a top edge on a few of the pages, some cover spotting, wear and tears at the top and bottom of the spine cover, lightly tanned pages, wear on cover edges, illustrated.

Vol. 4-481 pages: Front hinge cracked, some cover spotting, wear and tears at the top and bottom of the spine cover and spine edge, lightly tanned pages, spotting on first and last few pages, a few pages with corner bends, wear on cover edges, illustrated.
